It cannot be stressed enough that I see this, like all ship operations, as a team effort. I might be able to make keep the engines running, but I cannot ensure the ship will end up in the right location. That responsibility falls to the navigation officers. No one would have the energy to do any sort of work without the work of the mess department.
Just as the different departments of the crew rely on each other, we too rely on you for support. As such you should have a voice in it all.
